ORANGE CAKE

orange_cakeYOU HAVE GOT TO TRY THIS CAKE! It needs no introduction. After baking and eating it, you’ll know what I mean 🙂

Ingredients:

– 1 cup flour

– 1 teaspoon baking powder

– Pinch of salt

– 1/4 teaspoon orange zest

– 3 eggs

– 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

– 3/4 cup sugar

– 1/2 cup oil *

– 2 tablespoons orange juice


 

1- Sift flour, baking powder and salt together. Set aside.

2- Beat the eggs, orange zest and vanilla until it doubles in size. Add sugar, orange juice then oil and beat until it becomes creamy in texture.

3- Add the flour and mix on the lowest speed. Don’t mix more than 15 – 20 seconds.

4- Pour the mixture in a greased baking pan. Put it in a preheated oven at 350F/180C/ gas mark 4, and bake for 40 minutes or until the toothpick comes out clean from the cake.


* If you want the cake to be fluffier and lighter in texture then add 3 more tablespoons of oil.
