Key Recipe Ingredients

  • Boiled and Shredded Chicken Breast – The star of our dish, chicken breast, is a great source of lean protein. Shredding gives the salad a satisfying texture that makes it perfect for sandwiches.
  • Low-Fat Mayonnaise – We use low-fat mayonnaise to keep the salad light. It also adds a creamy, tangy flavor that brings all the ingredients together.
  • Fresh Bread Roll We serve our chicken salad on a fresh bread roll. You can also use sandwich bread or even a croissant for a different twist.
  • Romaine Lettuce – It adds a nice crunch and a fresh, slightly bitter flavor that contrasts beautifully with the creamy chicken salad.

Substitutions And Variations

Here are some of our favorite variations and substitutions:

  • Protein: You can substitute the boiled and shredded chicken breast with leftover roast chicken. Make sure the chicken is shredded or chopped finely.
  • Vegetables: If you are not fond of scallions, replace it with bell peppers or lettuce. Cucumbers and pickled jalapenos are also a tasty addition.
  • Mayonnaise: If you’re not a fan of mayo, you can use Greek yogurt or sour cream as a healthier substitute.

Step 1

  1. This looks delicious. I have a feeling my 8 year old would love it in her lunch box. She really loves and can live on the chuck-e-cheese days. Although she has had to make some adjustments since we came to Dubai. 🙂 There is a new Chuck-e-Cheese opening on Oud Metha and she can’t wait. 🙂
