Chicken tenders: We need chicken tenders to make this delicious dish. Chicken tenderloin is a tender and juicy strip of chicken meat that’s located right under the breastbone. It’ll give you juicier chicken, though you can also use chicken breast fillet instead.

Breadcrumbs: To get that perfectly crispy exterior, we’ll be using breadcrumbs to dredge these oven-baked chicken in. You can also substitute this with Panko breadcrumbs for even crunchier chicken tenders. Read the notes below for more details.

Butter: We’ll also need some melted butter when making our breadcrumb mixture. Not only will it allow the mixture to stick to the chicken tenders while it bakes, but it’ll also add moistness and help make the exterior crisper.

🔪 HOW TO MAKE OVEN BAKED CHICKEN TENDERS

Making baked crispy chicken tenders is both easy and incredibly simple. Let’s check out the steps to make them at home.

Step 1:

Start by taking a bowl and adding all the marinade ingredients to it, except the chicken. Mix the ingredients, and then add the chicken tenders. Mix it, cover it, and refrigerate for 20 minutes.

Step 2:

To make the breadcrumbs seasoning, in a different bowl, add all the ingredients except the melted butter. Mix well and then add the melted butter and mix until well combined.

Step 3:

Now preheat the oven to 400F/200C for thirty minutes before using it. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set it aside.

Step 4:

Take the chicken tender one by one from the marinade and dredge them in the breadcrumb mixture. Make sure that the breadcrumbs cover the chicken from all sides and then place it over the lined baking sheet.

Bake the chicken for 11 minutes and then flip the chicken tenders and bake for another 11 minutes.

  • If your chicken tenders are thin, then bake for 7 minutes and then flip and bake for another 7 minutes.
  • You will not taste the turmeric it is in the recipe for the color, if you don’t have it or don’t like it omit it.
  • If you want a crunchy chicken tender, replace regular plain breadcrumbs with Panko. Panko is a Japanese breadcrumb and has larger than standard bread crumbs which will give you an added crunch.
  • Don’t skip the lemon from the marinade, it helps in tenderizing the chicken.
  • Although this is a chicken tender recipe, you can use the marinade and the seasoned breadcrumbs on any chicken cut.
