🥘 INGREDIENTS YOU’LL NEED

This Southern Blueberry Cobbler recipe requires simple ingredients, it is the perfect dessert to make when you’re short on time (and don’t want to go out for an extra grocery trip!).

Blueberries: You can’t have a delicious blueberry cobbler without some blueberries. You can use fresh blueberries as well as frozen ones.

Sugar: We’ll use granulated white sugar in this recipe as it’ll help the blueberries release their juices while baking.

Cobbler mixture: To make our cobbler mixture, we’ll use pantry staple ingredients such as all-purpose flour, milk, baking powder, sugar, and chilled, cold butter. Making sure the butter is nice and cold will give you that perfect cobbler texture.

💭 COOKING TIPS

  • Instead of milk, you can use buttermilk which will make your cobbler lighter.
  • Use orange zest instead of lemon for a more summery flavor!
  • You can make this dish a day ahead. After scooping the batter on the blueberries, cover the pan and refrigerate till the next day. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon mix and bake it. Baking time might be a little longer.
  • In the video, I have used much fewer blueberries and half the batter since this is how we like it at my home. However, the steps are the same.
  • Cover your cobbler with tin foil when reheating in an oven if it’s browning too quickly.
  • You can also bake these in individual ramekins for a special occasion or holiday dinner, which will alter the baking time.

Toppings: You can also change the toppings to give your blueberry cobbler a different feel and personalize it to your preferences. Try sprinkling some oats and chopped nuts or sprinkling on coconut flakes for a delicious touch!
