Sugar: I have used white sugar, but you can for raw or any sweetener you prefer. You can also mix sugar with honey.
Lemon juice: Freshly made unsweetened lemon juice adds more nutrients and flavor to this drink
Water: Some use soda water, but I prefer to stick with regular water. It's up to you.
🔪 HOW TO MAKE BLUEBERRY LEMONADE
Step 1
Add the blueberries, sugar, and water to a pan to make the blueberry syrup. Let the mixture come to a boil. Mash the blueberries well to use all their juices, then add the lemon juice. Let it come to a boil, then let it simmer for 5 minutes.
Step 2
In a pitcher, add the sugar and water, strain the lemon juice through a fine mesh sieve and add it, then strain the blueberry simple syrup and add it too. Stir until the sugar dissolves. Place in the fridge for two hours to chill.
Step 3
Fill the glass with ice cubes and then pour the blueberry lemonade. Garnish the glass with lemon slices and fresh mint leaves. Enjoy!

Ingredients
FOR THE BLUEBERRY SYRUP
- ½ cup fresh blueberries
- ¼ cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- 2 tablespoon lemon juice
FOR THE LEMONADE
- ½ cup lemon juice
- ¾ cup sugar
- 6 cups cold water
Instructions
TO MAKE THE BLUEBERRY SYRUP
- Add all the ingredients except the lemon juice to a saucepan, and let it boil. Mash the blueberries using the back of a spoon or a masher.
- Add the lemon juice and let the mixture simmer for 5 minutes until it thickens slightly. Turn off the heat.
- Strain the syrup using a sieve, discard the solids, and keep the syrup aside.
TOMAKE THE LEMONADE
- In a pitcher, add the lemonade ingredients and mix well. Add the blueberry syrup and mix well. Cover and refrigerate for two hours before serving.
- Add ice to your glass and fill it with this refreshing drink when serving.
