Recipe

The avocado banana smoothie is an ideal drink in Summer, this delicious and refreshing smoothie recipe is good for your health, but it also kills any cravings for ice cream! Yes, you read that correctly, this smoothie tastes like ice cream.

The creamy texture of the avocado combined with the banana gives this smoothie a rich, creamy texture just like ice cream. I drink a lot of avocado banana smoothie in the summer; I am not saying that it should replace your breakfast, but it is great to have it while preparing lunch boxes for your kids or husband. Avocado Banana Smoothie will keep you full until you have the time to prepare a proper breakfast for yourself.

How to Make Good Avocado Banana Smoothie

Make sure that the avocado is not too ripe; it will ruin the taste of the smoothie. The avocado shouldn’t be too firm either, firm avocados are not sweet and have a hint of bitterness. The same scenario is with the bananas, so make sure that you are using fresh and just ripe fruits for this smoothie recipe.

With regards to milk, I never use skim milk for any of my smoothie recipes; it’s like using water, no taste, no flavor! Coconut milk and almond milk are great for this recipe.

I wonder why I never thought of making a smoothie with bananas and avocados! I used to give my kids banana and avocado when they were babies and always liked the way they mashed up smoothly, as you say, like ice-cream.

This looks amazing! I've started prepping smoothies ahead of time, and I currently have 14 smoothie packs in my freezer. I will have to add this in next time I prep!

My kids LOOOOVE bananas and avocadoes. Pretty they'd just eat those 2 things all day every day if I allowed them lol. I might just give a try! The only change I'd make is omit the sugar. Will be pinning this so I don't forget it!

I love making smoothies, and often add both avocados and bananas to my smoothies. Never thought about ONLY those two items, though! Definitely going to try this one. 🙂 Among my favorite smoothies are strawberry banana and a green smoothie made with pineapples, mango, avocado, and spinach.
