Steak: First, you’ll need a steak cut to make this recipe! I’ve used ribeye because the marbling makes the steak bites incredibly tender and juicy, but you can also use a less expensive cut.
Butter: We’ll also need some butter to sauté the garlic in for the gravy, and to make the base for the roux, we’ll need to get the perfect gravy!
All-purpose flour: You’ll also need all-purpose flour to get the perfect flavor of the gravy and the right consistency.
Spices: To season the steak, we’ll be using salt and pepper, and for the gravy, you’ll need some basic spices such as pepper and paprika!

Step 1:
Season the steak bites and mix them well. Then in a hot pan, add cooking oil and sear the steaks from both sides until they turn light brown. Make sure not to crowd the pan and cook it in batches. Remove from the pan once done and set it aside.

Clean the pan, and add one tablespoon of butter and 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Add garlic to the pan and reduce the heat to avoid burning the garlic.

Next, add the flour, paprika, and black pepper to the pan. Now pour water and keep stirring to avoid any lumps from forming. Season it with salt and cook until the consistency turns thick.
Step 4:
Your delicious steak bites with gravy are ready to be served! Serve them with a bed of mashed potatoes and pour gravy on top.
💭 COOKING TIPS
- Before adding the garlic, make sure the heat is low, or the garlic will burn, and the gravy will taste bitter.
- If you want a thinner gravy, add more water. And if you want it thicker, cook it more on medium-low heat until it reaches the right consistency.
- I have used ribeye steak, but you can also use a less expensive cut. Any cut will work well, and that’s the beauty of this recipe.
- If you’re looking for other premium cuts apart from ribeye, you can use sirloin, tenderloin, porterhouse (New York strip steak), or T-bone.

🌡️ STORING AND REHEATING
Fridge: You can easily store these steak bites and gravy in the fridge for up to 3 days in an airtight container.
Freezer: If you want to freeze the steak bites, that’s also possible for up to 3 months in a freezer-safe container. But I don’t recommend freezing the gravy since the texture and flavor will change entirely. For this same reason, making the steak fresh is best since it’s so quick and easy!
Reheat: To reheat the steak bites, pop them in the microwave till they’re warm all the way through. You can also quickly reheat them in a hot pan, but be careful not to overcook them. To reheat the gravy, reheat it in a pan on the stovetop and add a little water till you get the right consistency.
