In a 9-inch baking pan add half a cup of unsalted butter. Place the baking pan in a preheated oven of 350F/180C, when the butter melts remove it from the oven.
TO MAKE THE BATTER
Sift the flour with baking powder, and salt. Keep aside.
In a mixing bowl, add the egg, vanilla, sugar, and beat for 2 minutes.
Add the milk and beat until combined.
Add the dry ingredients to the wet and mix until combined, do not over mix the batter even if you see few small lumps.
Pour the batter over the melted butter, do not mix the two or the batter will sink and turn chewy.
Gently spread the apples over the batter and do not mix it with the batter or push it in the batter. Pour the juices from the apples all over the batter.
Bake the cobbler for 25 to 30 minutes. Allow the apple cobbler to set for 5 minutes.

Notes
- If you like more juice/sauce in your cobbler, then add ¼ cup apple juice or orange juice to apples while cooking it.- You can use the type of apple you like or even a mixture of two different types.- When using salted butter, omit the salt from the recipe.
