To my readers who enjoy baking goodies like today’s Mocha Flavored Buttery Egg Free Cookies, you are in for a treat. These simple looking cookies will surprise you from the first bite!
Making Mocha Flavored Buttery Egg Free Cookies.
My goal when making these mocha-flavored buttery egg free cookies was to keep them crunchy on the edges but moist and cake like at the center. Most egg free cookies are on the crispy side but these babies are heaven.
If you take out the coffee from this recipe you get a basic egg-free cookie dough, which you can convert into your favorite flavor easily. Add vanilla, lemon or orange zest, or turn it into a snickerdoodle. No matter how you flavor these cookies make sure to use good quality butter.
Making these mocha cookies is so easy, but you must chill the dough for at least 20 minutes before baking. You don’t have to use your hands, an ice cream scoop will do the work for you. I have baked a whole batch in one tray since these cookies don’t spread much.

Ingredients
- ¾ cup all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- Pinch of salt
- 7 tablespoon unsalted butter at room temp
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- ¼ cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1 ½ teaspoon instant coffee granules.
Instructions
- In a bowl, add the butter, sugar, condensed milk, and coffee granules. Whisk until fluffy and light in color. This may take 4 minutes.
- Whisk or sift flour with baking powder and salt, then add to the previous mixture. Mix until combined.
- Cover the dough and refrigerate for 20 to 40 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350F/180C. Line baking sheet with parchment paper and keep aside.
- Using an ice cream scoop of around two tablespoons, scoop the dough and place each scoop 2 inch away from the other.
- Bake for 12 minutes or until the edges are light brown.
- Remove from the baking sheet and place on cooling rack to cool completely.

My hubby is obsessed with butter cookies. These look really soft and fluffy and with that hint of citrus, I bet he would be over the moon.
I’m sure your husband will enjoy these cookies!
I definitely love this idea to make with my kids! They always love making cookies! For some reason I thought these cookies would be darker in color because they’re “mocha.”
I have used a small amount of coffee therefore, the cookies are not dark. Hope your kids enjoy making some 🙂
Having looked through the recipe (not to mention the lovely photos), this is one thing I am going to make. As I am not a great cook, it is really good that this has been laid out so simply…and I was absolutely sold when you mentioned that these were crunchy on the outside but moist and soft on the inside. I only hope I can recreate them just as well! Wish me luck!
I’m sure you’ll do a great job and please do let me know how you liked the cookies 🙂
The dessert pictures are so delicious looking. I can’t wait to try this recipe.
Thanks for your kind comment Sondra 🙂

Yum! I have never made cookies without egg, I would be interested to see what they tasted like! Does the texture change much when you take out the egg?
These cookies taste just like the regular butter cookies and the texture is very much the same, I’m sure you’ll love these cookies!
Are these free cookies that taste like a buttery egg? Just kidding haha. I would love to have a mocha flavored cookie.
Lol! You’re funny, but these cookies are free for fellow food bloggers 😀
MMmm these would go really well with an afternoon cuppa! They sound so delicious!

I am not a huge fan of mocha but I like having it from time to time. It’s also something that the kids will enjoy. I’d love to try this recipe one of these days.
You can totally omit the coffee and add any flavor you like 🙂

These cookies look absolutely lovely! My daughter has a good friend who is allergic to eggs, I will definitely be making this recipe when she comes over!
Yes being allergic to eggs is difficult since eggs are used in most of the dessert recipes.
My kids and I have quite a few sweet tooths. If the have these cookies, I bet they will want to have their milk to go with this. Thanks for the recipe, we will be enjoying the process to make them together.
Oh how I miss baking! I’m still having some morning sickness so I don’t have a lot of strength to bake yet. I’ll definitely try this out once I feel better!
I hope you feel better soon Angela 🙂
